Andrew Long ID’d as Man Killed in Oregon Truck Accident on West Washington Street
Oregon, Illinois (October 20, 2020) – Authorities have identified the man who was killed Tuesday night in an alleged DUI crash in Oregon as Andrew Long, 37, of Leaf River.
The deadly two-car accident happened at around 8:35 p.m. Tuesday, October 13, in the 1700 block of W. Washington Street.
According to the authorities, Scott Disher, 33, of Mt. Morris, Illinois, was driving a 2016 Dodge pickup truck westbound when, for an unknown reason, he allowed the vehicle to cross over the center median into the eastbound lane and collided head-on with an oncoming 2007 Saturn driven by Andrew Long, 37, of Lead, Illinois.
Long was pronounced dead at the scene.
Disher was taken to KSB Hospital in Dixon to be treated for minor injuries before being booked into Ogle County jail on suspicion of DUI.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
